Settle Before Your Iron Meal

Ten minutes that tell your body it's safe to absorb, before the plate arrives.

Ten minutes that tell your body it's safe to absorb, before the plate arrives.

tired-but-wired, low ferritin fatigue · 15–30 minutes before your main iron-rich meal · 10 minutes

Why it works

Iron absorption isn't only about what's on the plate. Chronic stress and inflammation raise hepcidin, the hormone that locks iron out of the gut and inside storage cells (Ganz & Nemeth, 2020). You can't breathe hepcidin away, but a calmer system eating slowly, with coffee and tea kept away from the meal, gives the food-first plan its best chance.

A pre-meal reset built for anyone chasing a ferritin number that won't move. It pairs a slow mineral drink, a long-exhale downshift and a few food-sequencing choices. It supports your bloods plan; it doesn't replace it. Keep your clinician in the loop on ferritin, haemoglobin, transferrin saturation and CRP.
